Unic Fagus Ltd
Unic Fagus Ltd is a privately owned timber manufacturer company, owning a sawmill, steamers and kiln driers, located in Vajszlo, Hungary.
We are specialized in producing oak and beech products (fresh or kiln dried boards, beams and flooring products), while we also have partners in all over Europe in the traditional wooden frame building industry.
Company history
The company’s predecessor was called Mecsek Forest and Sawn Wood Processor Company. Because of the increased demands for finished goods, in 1981 new factory halls were built and new machines started its operation next to the previous ones.
In 2007 the company was privatized, and became 100% privately owned.
After the ownership change, a new, latest technology log ripping band sawing technology with a round cutting processing was introduced. Based on this method we can supply our buyers with higher and better quality products. In 2007 our new steamer hall (20 m3) and new dryer hall (3 × 100 m3) started its operation, next to the present dryer hall (2 × 50 m3). In 2008 we constructed more covered halls (2.000 m3) to store and keep the completed products suitably. Our yearly timber processing capacity exceeds 20.000 m3.
Environmental issues are very important to us, that is why we purchase our materials from guaranteed sustainable forestry.
